There is now another retail sports betting option available minutes from the California border.
Buffalo Bill’s Resort & Casino in Primm, Nevada, reopened last Friday — and so did its William Hill retail sportsbook. The casino had been closed for two years due to effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Primm sits less then a mile from the California-Nevada border. It’s literally minutes from the border, providing the closest legal sports betting option for California residents who don’t have any legal sports betting in California.
With the William Hill sportsbook now open at Buffalo Bill’s, Primm has three up-and-running retail sportsbooks. They’re all William Hill brands, too: Buffalo Bill’s, Whiskey Pete’s Hotel & Casino, and Primm Valley Resort and Casino.
The William Hill Race and Sports Book at Buffalo Bill’s has seating for 40. It also features 20 TVs (including four big-screens) and cocktails. It opens at 9 a.m. daily and closes 15 minutes after the final race of the day.
Nevada also has 13 excellent online sports betting options that California residents can use as soon as they cross the border.

With sports betting rejected in the 2022 election, California sports bettors must travel to neighboring states in order to place legal sports bets. Primm is the closest option for most Southern California gamblers. Lake Tahoe is the closest option for most Northern California gamblers.
Paradise Casino in Yuma, Arizona, and The Mill Casino, Hotel & RV Park in North Bend, Oregon, are also viable in-person sports betting options for Southern Californians and Northern Californians, respectively.
What Else Is at Buffalo Bill’s?
According to a tweet from Primm Valley Resorts, Buffalo Bill’s will also unveil new upgrades in 2023. One of those upgrades is an improved entertainment venue, Star of the Desert Arena, which the resort hopes will draw high-quality acts. For example: Gladys Knight is set to perform there Jan. 14.
Buffalo Bill’s also offers 400 slot machines and a variety of table games and electronic table games.
