Valentine’s Day will be a sweetheart deal for everyone when Thunder Valley Casino Resort officially christens its new 4,500-seat, $100 million, state-of-the-art entertainment complex called The Venue at Thunder Valley on Feb. 14.
Guests will be able to take a guided tour of the 150,000-square-foot venue days before it hosts its first event, a concert by one of the top-selling bands of the 1970s, the Eagles. That chart-topping band will appear on Feb. 17 as part of its “Hotel California 2023” tour, followed by Bruno Mars on Feb. 18, and Santana on Feb. 19. Tickets are available at major online sellers.
A lineup of future shows can be seen on the Thunder Valley entertainment page of their website.
The Venue at Thunder Valley Adds Major Attraction
Before the addition of The Venue at Thunder Valley, the casino resort was listed at just over 144,000 square feet. The cutting edge entertainment project now more than doubles the footprint of Thunder Valley.
Thunder Valley now has another draw to help compete with nearby Red Hawk Casino in Placerville. About 30 miles east of Sacramento, Red Hawk Casino recently opened The Apex, an 80,000-square-foot complex featuring indoor go-karting, golf simulators, a virtual reality arcade, a bowling alley, a sports bar, and more. It is also currently building a 150-room hotel with 25 VIP suites to be completed in early 2023. The casino will then be called Red Hawk Casino + Resort.
However, Red Hawk has a much smaller entertainment stage inside a bar at its casino. It’s anticipated that Thunder Valley could attract much larger acts. According to the tribe, the venue can also host conferences and banquets.
Thunder Valley Casino Resort is one of the largest Indian casinos in California. It is located in Lincoln, in Placer County, about 29 miles north of Sacramento. It’s owned and operated by United Auburn Indian Community, which us made up of primarily Maidu and Miwuk Indians of the Sacramento Valley region.
It offers more than 3,400 slots, 110 table games, a 50-table poker room, 270,000 square feet of gaming space, and a 400-room hotel.
